My thoughts and prayers are constantly with him, and especially with his wife. He had a very coherent letter to his congregation, but I kept looking ahead to ten days from now; when the ritual of grieving is over, when everyone is gone. When he looks around, and doesn’t see his son, and realizes he never will again in this lifetime.
That is the time, when the realization comes that there is a hole in your heart that nothing will fill. Only God’s Word will get Rick through the rest of his life.
We will be looking to Rick for his example, to help us in our grieving.
Psalm 139:16.
God is sovereign.
