Jesus said, “Do not hold on to me, for I have not yet ascended to the Father. Go instead to my brothers and tell them, ‘I am ascending to my Father and your Father, to my God and your God.’”
Mary Magdalene went to the disciples with the news: “I have seen the Lord!” And she told them that he had said these things to her.”(NIV)
Now the disciples were all shaken. Mary Magdalene had seen the Lord. They had never known her to tell an untruth, and her joy was unmistakable. A stranger off the street would find Mary Magdalene’s story credible. It was entirely true.
Mary left to find Mother Mary and the friends, and they walked all the streets of Jerusalem praising God and telling everyone that Jesus was alive.
They stopped at the woodshop of James and Jude who gave hugs to each and every friend and their Mother. They had no problem believing that Jesus was alive. Mother Mary was like a young girl again, as she twirled and danced down the streets.
The joy of the women was a living testimonial to the fact that Jesus had beaten death and was indeed alive. Everyone in Jerusalem knew Mother Mary and her friends. They clapped together and sang with happiness as they saw the women dancing and singing down the streets of Jerusalem.
Jesus thought that the women would certainly be able to convince the disciples that He was alive. He saw that the women would not be enough to break the Lucifer curse he had put on the disciples on Thursday. He would need to make a couple of appearances and soon, so they could see He had indeed risen from the dead.
